Principle Arranger, Lead/Harmony/Background Vocals, Lead, Rhythm and Bass Guitar/Keyboards
From West Virginia, Phil has been playing music since the age of five when he began taking piano lessons. At the age of 16, he picked up a guitar and knew he had found his calling. Soon he was playing and singing the songs he heard on the radio, and a lifetime of performing began.
Fortunate to grow up in a time when so many styles of music were in his home, Phil heard standards, country, bluegrass, early rock and roll, the British Invasion, Motown, the late 60′s blues revival and psychedelia. Phil came to the conclusion that many other musicians have reached: It’s not the style of music that matters; it’s the quality of it.
Phil blends all these styles in his performance, and his ability to do so with his “blue eyed soul” tenor voice has led him to a rich musical career. He has played disco, Top 40, country and blues as a side man and as a band leader. His most recent solo project has been performing standards of the 1930′s and 1940′s on the seven-string guitar.
Not just a singer and player, Phil also writes and records his own songs. Arranging his compositions and improving his recorded performances has sharpened his skills, with the benefits carrying over into his live performances. Phil knows performance is more than just the music; it’s the experience.
His goal is to take his audience on a journey of joy, love and passion. He believes that every show is an opportunity to do that, and he knows each of these moments exist only once. He wants his audiences to remember these moments as the time of their lives.
