AJ Campione

Musical Director, Lead, Rhythm and Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Background Vocals
From upstate New York, AJ picked up the guitar at age 12 and has rarely set it down since! He studied with Carmen Caramanica, one of New York’s most respected musicians and guitar instructors.  Mr. Caramanica was Lou Rawls’ music arranger and guitarist, and played with Barbra Streisand and Tony Orlando.

AJ played in rock, disco, country and even polka bands throughout high school and college. He graduated Morrisville College with a degree in Music Technology, for which he had to learn to play clarinet, sax, oboe, bassoon, and flute. Part of this degree was instrument repair, in which he learned to take apart and repair all the instruments in the orchestra!

Playing guitar and bass, AJ toured the United States with various rock and roll bands including “Heaven”, “The Golden Grape” and “The Other America”; Show Bands such as “Stump The Band” and “Lookin’ Back”; and theatre companies including “Man of La Mancha” and “Days Go By”.

Returning to school, he obtained a degree in Criminal Justice from Syracuse University, and became a deputy sheriff.  Continuing to play in successful musical projects throughout New York, AJ opened his own music shop and school, teaching guitar and bass.

Tired of cold weather, AJ came to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and work as a private investigator.  He met Cindy, who had recently moved to Tampa, and soon they were making music together. It wasn’t long before he found himself happily married and a permanent Floridian!

AJ’s style is a combination of precision and finesse, both subtle and dynamic, giving The Time of Our Lives Band a great sound.  His laid back personality and genuine love for music and performing make him the perfect leader.
